Biologist Dr John Bradshaw spends time with cats (and their humans) to better understand their behavioural patterns. He discovers and explains the different noises that cats make and tells us why domestic cats constantly miaow at their humans but not at other cats.

Our house is often visited by a big ginger feral cat, the noise he makes at us isn’t really like the usual miaow of our kitties. Maybe this is because he hasn’t spent much time with humans so the “miaow” is not really part of his vocabulary.
This informative video is an excerpt from the acclaimed BBC documentary Cats Uncovered.
