A meteorologist for a local news station in Ohio, USA, was investigating the effects of a recent quarter mile-wide tornado when he discovered a small kitten, shivering in fright.

Rich Wirdzek of Storm Center 7 heard the little kitten’s meows whilst climbing over rubble that used to be two homes and a barn in the Ohio town of Cedarville. He picked up the traumatized cat, small enough to fit in the palm of his hand, and then wrapped it in a jacket inside a news truck.

The kitten has since been reunited with the Dobbins family, who say the kitten was one of several recently born in their barn.

This weatherman is surely a hero and what a lucky little kitty to be found in time.

Here’s another great story about rescued kittens.
