Have you heard of tortitude? It's a special kind of attitude that tortoiseshell cats are famous for.

But here's a tortie that has something to tell you. It's not just tortitude that can make you famous. It's also your - tongue!

Meet Gremlin the Blep Cat!

Her story begins back in 2013 when a cardboard box containing a litter of kittens was found in Walgreens parking lot.

Mauren Sparrow was contacted by her then-roommate, asking if she was interested in adopting one of the kittens.

Apparently one of the kittens had a bit of a weird jaw but she was very cute.

As soon as Mauren laid eyes on her she was completely smitten.

At the vets, Mauren was told that Gremlin's crooked jaw was probably due to inbreeding.

But it wasn't really a disability, otherwise she was perfectly healthy.

This delightful tortoiseshell kitty loves cuddles and forehead kisses and she's particularly fond of catnip toys and special treats.

Mauren has a wonderful relationship with Gremlin, and this made her decide to add more cats to her family – in fact, she is now a proud mum of five cats and they are all rescues.

Of course, as well as Gremlin, all of her kitties have distinct personalities.

She adopted Calcifer 2019 and calls him her spicy ginger boy...

In June 2020 she adopted Jiji, a beautiful fluffy Maine Coon mix...

Later that year she found two kittens by the side of the road - David Rose, whom she says is like a fine wine...

And his sister Alexis Rose is a total diva!

But it hasn't all been plain sailing, recently, Mauren told We Love Cats and Kittens that the cats have taken to fighting, not too seriously, but it has left the house in a constant state of tension.

Mauren has been patient with all of them. She has made progress, but they're not quite good friends yet - let's hope that situation is resolved soon.

But none of that bothers Gremlin, being an older cat she spends most of the time sleeping!

She's the master of cuddling and gets it all she wants, with a blink of her eye - or a blep of her tongue!
