Probably the first thing you should buy before bringing your kitty home, the litter box is a critical investment for any cat owner. There are tons of different manufacturers out there, designing litter boxes and trays to make going to the bathroom easier for your cat, whilst helping you to avoid unwanted odors, the possibility of your cat pooping outside the litter box, leaks and litter scatter.

The Nature’s Miracle Advanced Hooded Corner litter box is a trusted brand on the market.

Highly regarded for its spacious design, the Nature’s Miracle hooded corner litter box is an extra large litter box, plenty big enough for bigger breeds of cat (like the Maine Coon), but it also has a host of benefits for pet parents. The hooded design helps to prevent litter from going everywhere when your kitty visits the bathroom. Plus, the corner design means your litter box enclosure can nestle conveniently into a small part of your home.

Corner litter boxes are some of the most popular on the market today for pet owners who want to keep their kitty comfortable, without taking up too much floor space.

Today, we’re going to provide a behind-the-scenes look at the Nature’s Miracle hooded corner box, to help you decide if it's right for you.

Introducing the Nature’s Miracle Advanced Hooded Corner Litter Box

The Advanced Hooded Corner Litter box is a specially designed box offering a combination of a compact corner shape, and a spacious interior environment.

Perhaps the most appealing feature of this box is its unique plastic technology, which helps to block unwanted smells from wafting out of the box and into your home.

The plastic odor-removers help to stop smells caused by bacteria while preventing odors from absorbing into the plastic too. The antimicrobial product protection also has a non-stick surface, which helps to protect against litter caking, making cleanup a little easier and maintaining your clean litter box.

  • 26x 23 x 20 inches
  • Opening: 12.6 x 12.2 inches
  • Lowest entry point: 6.5 inches

The Nature’s Miracle Corner litter box comes in a neutral graphite color for the base, with a white hood on top. There’s also a replaceable charcoal filter on the top of the box which helps to reduce odors.

The filters are pretty affordable, so you can change them as often as you like.

One of the things we liked most about the Nature’s Miracle corner litter box is its size. While some customers may argue this product is a little large for a corner box, it’s actually one of the few corner boxes which can fit larger breeds like the Maine coon. If you like the idea of having corner pans, but don’t want to be limited on size, this could be the box for you.

How to Choose a Corner Litter Box

If you’re thinking of investing in something like the Nature’s Miracle corner cat litter box, it’s worth making sure you know how to choose the right box first. There are various factors that come into play when choosing a litterbox, whether it’s a corner litter box design with a hood, or something else entirely. Here are some of the important aspects you might want to think about when you’re looking at the Nature’s Miracle corner litter cat box:

  • Sizing: When you choose a corner litter box, rather than a full-sized option, you’re giving up a little volume in terms of space. This means it’s extra-important to ensure your cat can move and turn around freely when going to the bathroom. The Nature’s Miracle box is quite reliable in this regard and can even be large enough for bigger breeds.
  • Entry: Since the shape of a corner litter box is a little different, make sure you’re cautious about the design of the entryway. Beyond the internal size of your box, you need to make sure the entry point is easy enough to access for cats with more heft.
  • Odor prevention: This is something you’ll want to consider when choosing any kind of litter box, whether you’re looking for a corner product, or something more traditional. A good corner litter box will have an excellent odor control system perfect for preventing kitty urine odors from seeping into your home. This product from Nature’s Miracle has its own filters to assist with this practice, as well as a pioneering plastic design.
  • Durability: The right cat litter tray should be something you can trust to stand the test of time. Provided you clean your litter box regularly and take good care of it, the high-performing corner litter box designed by the specialists from Nature’s Miracle can be an excellent investment. This fantastic product is made with high-quality plastic, which is resistant to litter caking.
  • Ease of use: The concept of “ease of use” in cat litter box design applies to both you and your feline friend. First, your box needs to be easy enough for your kitty or older cats to access and use comfortably. It’s also important to ensure you can clean the box with very little effort. If you’re going to have a hard time getting your scoop into the corners, this could be problematic.

Pros and Cons of a Corner Litter Box

Before you spring for a cat box like the Nature’s Miracle Advanced, make sure you know what you’re getting into with a corner box. Though these boxes are great for saving floor space and making your home look a little neater, they can be problematic for some cats. A well-made corner litter box has a number of benefits but be sure to do your research before investing.

  • Can save a decent amount of floor space and make your home look nicer
  • They’re easier to conceal if you want to hide your boxes
  • They can be more lightweight and easier to empty out

  • Somewhat more difficult to clean
  • Limited internal space
  • Smaller entry for most cats

Do Cats Prefer Hooded Pan Litter boxes?

The Nature’s Miracle Advanced hooded litter box isn’t just a corner box, it’s also one of the many cat litter trays on the market with a hood. If you haven’t purchased a litter tray for your cat before now, or you’ve always used open trays, you might be wondering if hooded litter boxes are a good idea.

It’s difficult to say for certain whether cats actually prefer a covered tray to an uncovered corner litter box. This is something you’re likely to discover for yourself after introducing your cat to hooded trays. Some kitties love the sense of privacy and protection they get with a hood, while others feel restricted by the design of hooded trays.

For the most part, the benefit of a hooded litter tray is less for the cat, and more for us as human beings. Hooded trays, like the Nature’s miracle version covered here, are much more effective at preventing odors from leaking out into your home. You can even get trays with filters which eliminate some of the smells before they can reach you.

If you’re not able to instantly jump in and clean the litter tray every time your cat goes to the bathroom, a covered tray can be a good option. However, you will need to be cautious and make sure you clean the tray regularly, otherwise your cat could start to act up. The hood’s ability to keep the smell in can make it less appealing to your cat.

Hooded trays also have the added benefit of protecting your wall and floor. If your cats pee high, then they’re not going to end up missing the side of the litter tray when a hood is available. Additionally, you reduce the risk of kitty litter going absolutely everywhere. If your cat tends to dig aggressively, they won’t be kicking litter all over the place.

Nature’s Miracle Advanced Hooded Corner Litter Box: Features

Now we’ve covered the basics of Nature's Miracle hooded corner litter box, and why hooded corner litter boxes are so appealing, we can jump into the details. The Nature’s Miracle advanced hooded corner litter box weighs around 1 pound and is made entirely from proprietary odor-blocking plastic.

Made by one of the most popular brands on the market for cat accessories, this corner-design litter box is perfect when you want to save space in your home. Here are some of the features that the corner litter box design offers and things to be aware of when deciding if this product is right for you.

Cat friendliness

The ideal corner litter box will always be one capable of supporting your cat when they go to the bathroom. Any cat will want a space large enough to move around in when they’re trying to find the perfect spot to go to the bathroom. The Nature’s Miracle cat corner litter box is one of the larger corner boxes on the market, making it ideal for bigger felines.

Notably, there’s also an extra-large opening on the Nature’s miracle corner litter box, which makes it even more spacious and accessible for your feline friends. Compared to most competing corner litter trays, the Nature’s Miracle Advanced is far more flexible for larger cats. It’s also ideal for multi-cat households, provided you’re willing to empty the tray often enough.

Streamlined corner litter box design

It’s worth noting a lot of cat owners can have a problem with figuring out where they should place a litter box. It’s not exactly the most fashionable item in your home, and the last thing you want is for people to be tripping over the box when they’re walking around. The Advanced hooded corner litter box has a sleek and streamlined corner design to make it easily placeable in any home.

The sleek and streamlined design means you can conveniently keep your litter box hidden away, so it doesn’t detract from usable floor space and the overall appeal of your home. You also have the added benefit of the hood and high walls, so your litter is hidden from guests.

Odor protection

The unique design of the Nature’s Miracle corner litter box isn’t just excellent for aesthetic reasons. The product also features a special form of plastic that helps to protect against bacterial build-up and stop odors from seeping into your home

The top of the corner litter box comes with a section for a replaceable charcoal filter to help stop smells, and the full built-in system for odor management which keeps your home smelling great. We were particularly impressed by the built-in non-stick surface for easier cleaning.

Easy cleaning

For a cat litter box to be truly impressive, it needs to be excellent not just for the cat, but for the owner responsible for keeping the litter tray clean too.

Most corner litter box trays can be a little complex to clean, due to difficulty getting into the corners with a scoop. However, the spacious interior of this corner itter box makes it much easier to clean and takes far less time to scrub everything out.

The opening is easy enough to scoop litter from if you just want to remove some chunks throughout the day, but you will need to remove the full lid for a proper clean out. Fortunately, there’s a set of latches to help you remove the hood quickly. The box doesn’t have a handle on the top though, which can mean moving it isn’t as simple as most people would like.

Cleaning the litter tray is simple enough, but there are some issues with keeping the area around your tray clean. One extremely unfortunate aspect of this litter tray is the seam where the top and bottom of the tray meet. Unfortunately, this isn’t entirely leak-proof. This means if you have a cat which tends to spray up the walls of the tray, you’re going to have some problems.

While the covered top of the litter tray also helps to prevent litter kicking and tracking, there’s a very large opening at the front. This means there is some chance of litter and other mess escaping the box, depending on how your cat behaves when going to the bathroom.

If you can look beyond the issue of the mid-level leaking in the box, you’ll end up with a pretty durable product from Nature’s Miracle. The advanced corner hooded corner litter box features a very durable plastic, with excellent odor fighting technology. This product should last a decent few years provided you’re willing to take care of it properly.

The latches for removing the top part of the box for cleaning are also wonderfully well-made, but make sure you don’t be too rough with them, as the plastic can break with some extra pressure.

Nature’s Miracle Advanced Corner Litter Box: Pros and Cons

Overall, if you’re looking for a reliable corner litter box which looks good and has plenty of room inside for larger cats, the Nature’s Miracle Advanced is a good pick. This litter box offers decent value, great protection against odors, and a fantastic strategy for reduced litter tracking. However, it won’t be the right pick for every home. You may find the corner design a little more difficult to clean than you would like, and the lack of handles can make the tray difficult to move.

Is Nature's Miracle Advanced Corner Litter Box Right for You?

If, like many homeowners, you like the idea of being able to hide the litter box away in a corner of your home, the Nature’s Miracle tray could be a good investment for you. Though far from perfect, this is among the top-rated litter boxes on the market for corner box lovers. The cat-friendly design is also excellent for the large cats' happiness, and you can save usable space with the corner-ready shape too.

While this product does take up a little extra space than the standard corner litter box, it’s still more economical space-wise than a full-sized litter tray. This is one of the few products on the market with a corner shape that can actually fit a Maine Coon.

We love the fantastic odor prevention features of this litter box, as well as the fact you’ll be able to replace the charcoal filters as often as you like. However, you might find it tricky to clean the litter out of every corner of the product if you’re used to standard rectangle litter boxes.

The Advanced Nature’s Miracle hooded corner litter box is an excellent pick for a lot of households – including homes with multiple cats. However, we’d recommend extra caution with this tray if you have a cat that tends to pee high up on the wall of its hooded litter tray. The fact the walls aren’t entirely leak-proof can be a serious problem for your surrounding furniture.
