Haku is a delightful Maine Coon who was born in January of 2015. And as Maine Coons come to maturity between 2 and 3 years old, even as big as he is at a year and a half old, he’s still got a lot of growing to do!

Haku’s full name is Kohaku (琥珀), which translates to the color amber. Even though we would probably call his color ginger, I guess he does resemble amber and that has a nice ring to it.
The kanji (a system of Japanese writing using Chinese characters) of Haku (珀) is made of two parts: the left half means king (like Haku’s mane) and the right means white. So, Haku also stands for his white lion’s mane.

As you will see in the video, like all the ginger kitties I’ve met, he is totally delightful, is full of fun and loves his life very much with his humans. I get the idea that he is the king of the castle in this house !!
