Caring Rescue Kitty Brings Slippers to Mom Every Morning

Meet Lulu!
Her life changed drastically two years ago when she found her forever home. Before, she was an unkempt, sad and lonely shelter cat and now she’s a happy fluffy kitty that loves her human mom very much.

Some kitties show appreciation of their humans by bringing them a gift (known as gifting) in the form of a dead animal that they’ve hunted especially, or they give plenty of head boops, cuddles and have their purring engines working at full speed.

Lulu probably does all that too, but she’s also found a very special way of showing her human how much she loves her by fetching her slippers every morning, which to most of us is not a very cat-like thing to do.

It only took a few months for Lulu to realise that her owner likes to put her slippers on every morning after waking up, and that was when Lulu started her daily ritual. Each morning Lulu goes to the spot where her mom left her slippers the night before and brings them to her, she can only manage one at a time but is happy to go back and collect the other one and deliver it to her mom.

“My mom was surprised [the first time it happened],” Lulu’s owner’s daughter, Kayla, told The Dodo. “She wore the drool-covered slippers to encourage Lulu.”

When Kayla’s mother had told her that Lulu would bring her slippers to her each morning, Kayla thought it was a joke. “I didn’t believe her until she got it on camera,” Kayla said.

Now Lulu has her own Instagram page and the whole world can share in the joy of this sweet kitty’s gesture. She has certainly won my heart.
