I always love to hear about people that go out of their way to help the stray cats in their area. Charli Sotiriou is one of those people.
She lives in Greece and loves giving up some of her time to feed the stray cats that hang around her local village.
One day after dropping off some food, one of the cats began to chase her car as she departed, this little ginger kitty was running as fast as she could to keep up.
Charli had been feeding the local stray cats for years but this was the first time that one of them tried to follow her home.
She said of the situation: “It’s like she knew, that’s my car, that’s my human, I’m going that way, I know she lives down there!”
She got out of her car and the kitty was really friendly, which is unusual for a stray, so Charli decided to take her home and give her the care and love that she needed.
She decided to name her Annie.
Charli is somebody that really cares about animals, she already has a small, wonderful sanctuary on her land, The Arc Animal Sanctuary.
One day she got a phone call about three young kittens that needed a home, even though she was really busy, she just couldn’t say no.
When she introduced them to Annie, this friendly stray immediately felt her calling.
She was very inquisitive about the new arrivals, eager to please and eager to help.
Her motherly instincts kicked in and she took it upon herself to look after these little orphaned kittens.
Even though she had no milk of her own, one by one she would take the kittens to Charli to be bottle-fed.
She had become their caring, surrogate mother and guardian.
Looking after the kittens has given Annie a new lease of life and she has become more playful, a far cry from the life she was living on the streets.
