One day they received a call for help from their friends at Foxy and the Hounds.

A family of kittens had been spotted in a storm drain that was underneath a parking lot.

They were immediately on the scene and the first thing they did was surround the manhole cover with fencing to ensure that they would be visible to all the cars that visited the lot.

The idea was to block either end of the drain to get the kittens into the smallest area possible.

They decided to put a basketball inside one of their nets so it would fill the pipe and prevent the kittens from escaping.

They noticed that the place was swarming with cockroaches – urgh!

But that didn’t deter them and one of them got into the drain to try and catch sight of the kittens.

When all the escape routes were blocked they realised they needed more than two pairs of hands and called for back up.

It was time to start the rescue mission.

They quickly trapped two kittens and but more desperate measures were needed to catch their siblings. There was still no sign of the mother.

With the help of traps, nets, blankets and many pairs of hands, they finally had all of the kittens in the carrier.

Now that tall six kittens safe and on their way to the shelter the local people were so pleased they had finally been rescued.

They decided to name the kittens after the Spice Girls, but the mission wasn’t over yet as it was time to look for their mother.
