Flatbush Cats is an organization focused on reducing the outdoor cat population in Brooklyn, New York.

There are over 500,000 cats on the streets of New York City and Flatbush Cats focus on trap, neuter and return training (TNR), mentoring and educating people in this process and of course cat rescue and adoption.

One morning the postwoman arrives and she has a special delivery. She was out on her rounds when she came across a tiny kitten all alone in the street.

She knew this was dangerous place for someone so small to be so she managed to coax him out of the street and put him in a box.

So she continued on her rounds and brought her to a place where she knew the kitten would get all the care and attention she needed.

The carers at Flatbush named her Charli and made her feel safe and cared for. At this time Flatbush were working on one of their TNR projects and while out the street they made an interesting discovery.

A small kitten was found in one of the traps close to where the postwoman found Charli, in fact he turned out to be Charli’s brother!

They named him Wallace…

He wasn’t as feisty as Charli but she was very pleased to see him and welcomed him with the ceremonial crab dance.

The next step was to find a foster that would take both of the kittens.

Not a big problem as two are easier to care for than one because they keep each other company.

UPDATE: You'll be pleased to hear that it didn't take long to find Charli and Wallace a forever home together.
