There are millions of stray animals that roam our world looking for food and a place to sleep. What do they do when the weather gets cold? They have to find shelter somewhere, or they may die.
Fortunately there are lots of kind hearted people that do what they can to help these creatures in need…
When it comes to giving birth and raising the kids, the responsibilities seem to fall mainly to the mother, this applies to animals too. There are always exceptions to the rules and one cat dad decided he wasn’t going to be left on the sidelines, he wanted to help.
Jeff Wysaski is a comedian with a difference. He has created an ongoing project where he sneaks funny signs in every day life. This gave him the idea to create humorous description tags for the cats in his local animal shelter in a bid to help re-home them. Let’s hope it makes a difference.
When staff members arrived early one February at the Cat House on the Kings (a no-kill cat rescue and sanctuary in Parlier, California) they found 14 plastic tubs scattered around outside the sanctuary. They were surprised and quite horrified by what they saw because all of the tubs contained cats.
An elderly couple spotted a stray kitten wandering around the neighborhood him and decided to help him out as best they could. Little did they know, the kitten already had a guardian angel.

Meet Pooh the cat! Sadly he lost his back legs in a car accident but thanks to ground-breaking surgery he gets to walk on all fours again. Pooh is a stray cat that lives in Bulgaria (his name means ‘fluff’ in Bulgarian) and he’s been fitted with bionic legs, which are in fact two tiny polymer-and-rubber paws mounted on titanium stems.
A friendly cat named after a jazz legend has brought joy to critically ill patients at a California hospital. Meet Duke Ellington Morris! This adorable black and white feline recently visited ill patients at the UCSF Medical Center. He’s part of a new initiative between the SPCA and the hospital, known as the animal-assisted therapy program.
Meet Sila the black kitten! She fell into a barrel of engine oil and was rescued by workers in the nick of time. It was unsure how Sila found her way into this workplace and fell into a barrel of oil but luckily staff were nearby and rescued her as soon as they heard her cries.

A Japanese family rescued a tiny 3-day-old kitten who was found without his mom and siblings. They took him home and gave him an unusual friend to grow up with. When he was found he was so young his eyes hadn’t even opened. They decided there and then that he should join the family. Meet Koma!

These sisters are getting the help they need and lots of love at Kitten Rescue, a Los Angeles-based non-profit organization dedicated to saving homeless and abandoned cats and kittens. They were saved from a kill-shelter at around a week old and before long the nursery manager realized that there was something wrong as they weren’t outgrowing their floppiness.
