In 1998, Stubbs the cat was elected mayor of Talkeetna, Alaska and has served as the town’s mayor ever since. He first came to office when the residents of this small town were unhappy with their choice of candidates and began campaigning to elect Stubbs as a write-in candidate. he gained the support of 900 residents and so his honorary position began and he faithfully served his people for 20 years.
Have you ever wondered where your cats go when they are out of the house? I have one kitty that never strays far from the house and another that loves to go hunting in the fields. A study that placed GPS tracking devices on various house cat has turned up some interesting findings. While most cats stay in the vicinity of their homes, others travel much farther away, much to the surprise of their owners.
Chris Poole, who is Cole and Marmalade’s human dad, is on a mission to help a group of cats that have abandoned in a house, he explains: “This is what happens when you let your cats reproduce, get overwhelmed and then abandon them. A friend of mine who’s been working in animal rescue for many years was notified of this situation last week… I don’t want to go into too much detail right now, just know that we are working together with other cat rescuers to get these cats out of this house ASAP!”
