Little Phoebie didn't have a good start in life.
She was born with crooked front legs, and because of this her family didn't want her.
So when she was only 5 weeks old they separated from her mom and put her up for adoption.
Thankfully there are kinder people in this world.
When a woman called Sophie saw her plight on the internet she stepped in to help, worried that things could end badly for this fluffy little kitten.
So she took the kitty, named her Phoebie, and reached out to Chatons Orphelins Montreal (COM) for help.
Finally Phoebie was with people that cared.
When she arrived at the shelter she was literally crawling on her elbows.
This fluffy little kitty, who weighed only a pound, had already been through so much at such a young age.
All the staff were worried that her crawling would cause sores and pain as she gained weight.
She was taken to the vet to be examined who said that apart from her crooked legs she was a healthy kitten with a strong heart.
They decided to try and correct her legs with surgery so she could get a chance to walk like any other kitten.
Although she must have felt lots of discomfort because of her condition, she was patient and calm at the vet, determined to get better.
After the surgery, her front legs were bandaged up but she already couldn't wait to try to walk on her four paws.
Her determination to walk was amazing and she made incredible progress in such a short space of time.
"She began to play and then to run and jump so quickly. She was so strong and tolerated the splints so well."
After five weeks of treatment, her front legs were almost completely straight.
Thanks to the care she got at the shelter and from her foster mom Jess, she was well on her road to full recovery.
Soon enough, her health and overall well-being improved beyond recognition. At 3 months old, this owl-like kitty was already pre-adopted!
However, she stayed with her foster mom for an extra 2 months. They wanted to keep an eye on her until she grew a bit more.
In the meantime, Phoebie grew a proper diva attitude!
She became sweet and sociable and never hesitated to voice her opinion, especially when demanding attention!
And she really likes the company of other animals so it's great that she had a playmate at her foster home.
"Phoebie has grown into a beautiful, healthy, kitty with nice big straight legs!" COM shared with We Love Cats and Kittens.
"Looking at her now, one would never realize that she'd even had a birth defect on her front legs. They are straight and she walks, runs and gallops. Phoebie is a force of nature."
When Phoebie's condition improved enough, she was ready to begin the rest of her life!
And at 5 months old, she stepped into her new loving family!
She finally found humans who loved her for who she was and were happy to give her all the attention she deserved!
