Kitten with ‘Elvis Lip’ and Extra Toes Wins the Heart of His Foster Mom

In this heartwarming tale we meet Widdle, a distinctive kitten with an "Elvis lip."
Since being rescued he has captured hearts with his enchanting meow.
His story began when Kristen Sterner stumbled upon an urgent appeal from a nearby animal shelter about a 6-week-old kitten in dire need.
His previous owner had heartlessly thrown him from a moving car.
Her heart was moved and without hesitation, she liaised with St. Francis Society Animal Rescue, opening her home as a foster.
This orange tabby, despite facing health challenges and trauma-related wounds, made an instant connection.
"From the moment I brought him home, his unique meow struck a chord in my heart," shared Kristen.
Uniquely, this orange tabby is polydactyl.
He loves flaunting his extra toes on every paw!
Over time, his injured mouth healed, revealing an endearing 'Elvis lip' that playfully displays his tiny teeth.
Drawing inspiration from Star Wars, Kristen named him Widdle, after an Ewok Warrior.
From the onset, Widdle showcased his spirited and expressive nature, regardless of his tough start.
An his first vet visit, Widdle was the vocal center of attention.
Kristen humorously recalled, "He was so vocal that even during his X-rays, I could hear him echoing in the hallway."
Addressing his health, Widdle began a treatment regimen. However, Kristen soon discovered his chronic conditions - recurrent rhinosinusitis and mycoplasma.
Sadly, he would likely need lifelong medication due to a persistent nasal cold.
Yet, Widdle's zest for life remains unbridled. His resilience is evident in his playful antics around the house, proving he’s a true fighter.
"His spirit is indomitable, and he remains the most affectionate feline," recalls Kristen.Yet, Widdle's zest for life remains unbridled.
Their bond was evident from the start.
When their eyes met at the shelter, Kristen sensed his strong will and was irrevocably smitten.
He also had loads of furry friends at Kristen's place, including Anaki - a very charming black kitty that gave Widdle comfort when he needed it.
As Widdle matured, he showed a vibrant personality - bold, energetic, and sociable, especially when by Kristen’s side.
Describing him fondly, Kristen said, "Widdle is a bundle of energy - assertive yet incredibly sweet."
His unmistakable nasal meow is a trademark, ensuring he's always the center of attention.
Each morning Kristen is greeted by Widdle's enthusiastic sprints and snuggles.
Their bond is evident, especially when Widdle clings to her during their home adventures.
During mealtimes, Widdle has a favorite perch - the back of Kristen's chair, savoring the enticing aromas.
Overcoming adversities with courage, Widdle has blossomed into a charismatic cat with an oversized personality.
They recently celebrated his first birthday, marking their unforgettable journey.
Reflecting on their time together, Kristen expressed:
"Widdle's entry into my life is a blessing I cherish every day. He's the soulmate I never knew I needed, filling my life with immense joy and love."
