When Marcy the cat’s family were evicted from their house one summer, they moved away and unbelievably left her behind.

She managed to find shelter in an old cardboard box in the neighbors back yard and had made it her home.

When Rebecca McGinn was visiting her brother, he told her about the cat that had been living in his yard for a few months.

As soon as she saw Marcy, Rebecca instantly fell in love and knew she was taking her home.

“I decided to adopt her as she was inside a soggy cardboard box, shivering and had sore eyes,” explained Rebecca.

“As soon as she saw me, she came up for pets and was so sweet and affectionate.”

Marcy was in pretty terrible condition when Rebecca first took her in and after a trip to the vet it was determined that she had eye issues, worms, pneumonia and a lung infection.

Everybody knew that Marcy’s road to recovery would be a long one but Rebecca was just pleased to get her home.

She settled in immediately, curled up and slept for days.

“The thing she loves most is being with me and my partner, cuddled up,” said Rebecca.

“She is 100 percent obsessed with blankets and people. She loves being tucked in and covered up. She is on or in a soft blanket 99 percent of the time!”

After everything she’d been through, Marcy was so happy to finally have soft cuddly places to curl up in and is now addicted to all things cuddly.

I’m so pleased she finally found her forever home with loving, caring people.
