Some cats don't wait to be chosen—they do the choosing themselves.
Timmi was one of those cats, a fluffy little troublemaker who appeared one day and decided, after some hesitation, that she'd found her home. Her new humans had no idea what they were getting into.

When Timmi first showed up, she was nervous and skittish, disappearing beneath the shed the moment anyone caught sight of her.
But hunger has a way of overcoming fear. Despite her wariness, this mysterious feline planted herself by the door each day, announcing her arrival with an impressive chorus of meows.
One offering of turkey later, and she knew exactly where her next meal would come from.

Something about Timmi didn't quite add up, though. She didn't look like a street cat—her coat was fluffy and well-maintained, her appearance far too pristine for someone who'd been fending for herself.
Graham and his partner searched everywhere, scrolling through every lost pet listing in the area. Nobody was looking for her.

Even with a reliable food source secured, Timmi wasn't ready to trust humans. Then came a bitterly cold night that changed everything. As they watched her shivering outside, Graham and his partner faced an impossible decision.
They knew she'd hate being grabbed and brought inside against her will, but they couldn't leave her out there to freeze. While Timmi was distracted with her meal, they made their move and scooped her up.

As predicted, she was furious. The couple set her up in the bathroom, hoping a smaller space would help her adjust. It wasn't an easy transition.
Graham began sitting with her quietly, just being present so she could get used to having him around. Four long days passed before Timmi finally started to relax.

But when she did, the transformation was remarkable. Timmi began venturing out of the bathroom, and suddenly she wasn't just tolerating human contact—she was actively seeking it out.
The standoffish cat who used to hiss and run became incredibly, almost obsessively affectionate. She'd crawl onto someone's lap and completely melt, going entirely limp as if her bones had dissolved.

Dinnertime revealed Timmi's wild side. Once she finished eating, she transformed into a furry tornado, zooming around the house at top speed, doing flips and acrobatic moves that would impress any gymnast.

But the most dramatic shift happened at bedtime. The zoomie-loving, vocal dynamo turned into the most devoted sleeping companion imaginable. This adorable creature who'd discovered the joy of cuddles didn't just sleep near her humans—she slept on their faces.

Of course, adopting a surprise cat raised questions. Some people worried there might be kittens hidden under the shed or that Timmi hadn't received proper care. Graham made sure to address those concerns thoroughly.
They checked under the shed from every angle—no kittens. A vet visit provided clear answers: Timmi showed no reproductive development, and given her young age, there was virtually no possibility of kittens.
She received all her necessary shots, was dewormed, and passed a complete blood test. She had no microchip, and despite extensive searching, nobody in the area was missing her.

Looking back, Graham and his partner never imagined they'd be adopting a cat when that fluffy face first appeared at their door.
But Timmi had her own plans. She sees them as her parents now, and she's made it abundantly clear that she's exactly where she belongs.

Timmi found her people—or more accurately, she decided they were her people and moved herself right in. Ever since that decision was made, she's been thoroughly, completely, and obviously happy.
The Cat Distribution System strikes again, delivering a furry bundle of love to the doorstep of two humans who didn't know they needed her until she showed up and made the choice for them.
