A very brave cat with a giant tumor on her face never gave up.

Rescuers saved her from being euthanized and helped her restore her smile.

Meet Keta!

Even though Keta had a giant tumor on her face, this beautiful kitty fought to survive.

She was a stray kitty that was taken to a shelter where she was just waiting to be euthanized. But thankfully, she was found just in time by Unwanted NYC Pets.

The volunteers worked quickly to raise money to give her the surgery that she so desperately needed.

Despite her shocking appearance, Keta is a cat full of energy and has a huge appetite.

It was clear that she wouldn’t give up the fight. The obvious solution was to perform surgery, although this wasn’t without its risks.

Volunteers were very worried that once the giant tumor was removed she would no longer be able to see or eat properly.

“After speaking with many different doctors and having tests done we decided to go forward with the surgery to remove the giant tumor even though she could have lost an eye, be on a feeding tube or be so deformed no one would want to adopt her.”

The surgeon, Dr Tomas Ingernuso, managed to avoid the possible complications and successfully removed the tumour.

Keta made an incredible recovery, more than anyone could have hoped for.

Her skin is tightening and her appetite is as strong as ever. And now she lives just like any other kitty. She plays, she sleeps, she eats.

Life was starting to look a lot brighter for this amazing cat.

All she needs now to make her life complete is to be adopted into her forever home.

“Keta has been adopted and is loving her life with her fabulous family,” Unwanted NYC Pets said via Facebook.

She’s come such a long way! Look at her now with her wonderful smile.
