Shelters and rescue centers do their very best for the animals in their care, existing mainly on donations they have very limited resources. They usually have concrete floors, which are cheap to maintain and easy to clean. The downside of this though, is that cold, hard floors aren’t comfortable for animals to sleep on.

It’s true that most of these places have blankets or mats for the animals to sleep on, but let’s face it, there’s nothing like a nice, warm bed…

For the cats at the Etobicoke Humane Society in Ontario, Christmas came very early this year because IKEA donated 10 dolls beds that are the purr-fect size for cats, they also made a $300 contribution towards a brighter future for rescued animals.

“Our floors are easy to clean but not terribly comfortable to lay on,” writes EHS on Facebook. “Now cats like Catsby and Frankie have beds of their own to curl up in.”

IKEA doesn’t sell pet furniture as such, but some people discovered that their Duktig Doll Beds are perfect size for their beloved fur balls.

They make the ideal resting place for any sleepy kitty.
