Man Opens Up Mosque’s Doors For Stray Cats And Kittens to Keep Warm

Like many cities, Istanbul has a very large cat population and when Winter arrived, one man opened his doors for them so they could keep warm.

Mustafa Efe is the imam at the Aziz Mahmud Hüdayi Mosque and he began welcoming stray cats into the mosque last year, since then, this heartwarming story of his generosity has spread throughout the internet and across the world.

Mustafa Efe has taken his love of cats to another level and opened the Mosque’s doors so that stray cats could keep warm.

Imam calls the cats and kittens “guests” of the mosque.

His act of compassion reminds people how such a small gesture can make a big difference.

“The kitty has found the heart of compassion and mercy,” he wrote in a Facebook post.

This kitty felt so much at home that she brought her kittens there.

Another stray cat felt so much at home that he now lives at the mosque permanently.

These fortunate kitties even join in at prayer time and the people are delighted.
