This adorable kitty is named Lady. When she arrived at Dane County Humane Society they discovered she had severe chronic infections and hematomas in her ears.
The infection was so advanced that the only course of action was to remove her ear flaps.
Even after having to go through all that, her rescuers said it’s likely that she can hear even better than before as the chronic infections had caused the outer ear to block the entrances to her ear canals.
Furthermore, one of the Humane Society workers, Ash Collins, crocheted her a replacement pair.
“Staff and volunteers at Dane County Humane Society consistently go above and beyond for the animals in our care,” Ash explained. “I was more than happy to use my crochet skills to help Lady stand out and get the second chance she deserved, and I’m so honored to be a small part of her happy ending.”
These delightful purple and white ears could be one of the reasons she was adopted the very next day after her picture was posted on their Facebook page!
Despite having her earflaps removed, Lady, which is short for Lady in a Fur Coat, is still a very happy cat and loves to give happy head bumps to everyone she meets.
Her carers at the center said they were unsure of how she would be around other animals because she’s a stray, but it hasn’t stopped her from being adopted and finding her forever home in the blink of an eye!
