The people of Istanbul love cats.

If you’ve ever visited this beautiful city you’ll know that there is evidence of this on every street.

Many of the cats that live in this vast city are strays and they’re all fed and watered and cared for by the local community.

Everywhere you go you see bowls filled with water and food; it truly is a heartwarming sight.

That is why this story comes as no surprise to me – people are always willing to go out of their way to help the cat population of Istanbul.

This is the story of how one of those cats turned to the locals for help when she desperately needed it.

This is one amazing cat momma!

A stray mother cat decided that a hospital in Istanbul would be the best place to take her sick kitten.

Now we all know that mother cats are extremely instinctual and they will do everything to protect their offspring and will only move their young to places where they feel safe.

She somehow must have known that she would get help in this vast building, and it turned out she wasn’t wrong.

As soon as she walked through the door of the emergency room with what was thought to be a sick kitten in her mouth, the staff came rushing to help.

The mother cat knew that her kitten was in good hands and although she did not let her precious baby out of sight, she enjoyed the attention and the food that was put down for her!

After a brief examination, they believed the kitten and her mother to be in good health but decided to take them to the vet clinic just to make sure.

The story for us ends there, but I feel confident that mother and child will be well looked after in a community that really cares for their cats.
