When Twitter user Ash posted a picture of her friend’s cat, she had no idea that she would get such a big reaction.

The adorable black kitty had just returned from the vet where he had his front legs shaved for minor surgery, the picture, which had the caption:

“Please look at this picture of my friend’s cat who had to get shaved for surgery.”

It quickly went viral amassing a staggering 477K likes and over 88K retweets.

Before long people started responding with photos of their own shaved kitties after they had had surgery and most of the pics are not very flattering but extremely funny.

I’m sure that some of these cats are already plotting their revenge to get back at their owners who thought it would be amusing to make them a laughing stock on the Internet.

One just can’t help laughing at these hilarious pics but at least there’s one thing for sure, their hair will grow back soon!
