When you are on holiday in a foreign country and you see a cat, I’m sure that like me you try to say hello. And like me, you’ve probably noticed that they don’t react. This is because cats react to different sounds which depends mainly on the language spoken in that country.
In England, they say “chh-chh-chh”. In Israel, they say “ps-ps-ps” and in India, they say “meow-meow”. Each country gets a cat’s attention with different noises, and these are just a couple examples! So, those lovely people at Bored Panda have compiled this great list of how to call to cats depending on which country you are in.
So next time you are traveling abroad you’ll be able to call to that cat with confidence and you never know, they might just come over and say hello!
