BUT WAIT! Is this historically correct?
Did Sigmund Freud actually say: “Time spent with cats is never wasted”?

There is quite a bit of debate about this. Even though this quote is widely attributed to Sigmund Freud on many quotation websites, there is actually no documented evidence that he ever said it.
Time spent with cats is never wasted: Albert Einstein?
The mysterious ‘Time spent with cats is never wasted’ quote has also been attributed to Albert Einstein but this is definitely inaccurate! The wonders of the internet!

Time spent with cats is never wasted: Is It Fake news?
Possibly! Sigmund Freud did, however, write to his friend Arnold Zweig: “I, as is well known, do not like cats”.
He was much more of a dog person.

Final Verdict on the quote, Time spent with cats is never wasted!
Judging from the “I, as is well known, do not like cats” quote, which is well documented, it could well be taken that Freud did not actually say, “Time spent with cats is never wasted.”
It doesn’t even appear that he is a cat lover at all. Odd.
Maybe we will never know.
