Allow me to introduce you to Dexter, the most enormous domestic cat you've ever laid eyes on!
At seven years young, he's a proud member of the Savannah cat breed, famous for their impressive size.
Dexter is a F6 savannah cat, this means he's six generations removed from a Serval - a wild cat native to Africa.
His size adds a unique twist to life with this furry friend, making it far from ordinary.

We spoke to Laura Kay, Dexter's human mom. She has always had a deep passion for feline friends, so it was no surprise to her when Dexter blossomed into a miniature tiger.
Although Laura might not be the tallest person around, her furry friend Dexter is one BIG bundle of fur!
Their love story began when they first met, and it was truly love at first sight.
Dexter sweetly placed his adorable paw on her hand - a gesture he still continues to make to this day.
"When we went to meet Dexter and his littermates for the first time, I sat down next to him, and right away, he placed his little paw on top of my hand," shared Laura with We Love Cats and Kittens.
"At that moment I knew he was the kitten for me, " she added.
Even though Dexter is an F6 and not likely to become extremely large, he still stands out among his peers.
But despite his imposing size, Dexter is just like any other cat - he's playful and happily entertains himself for hours with his favorite toys!
Laura explains that she has to buy him dog toys because of his size, the little cat toys get destroyed rather quickly!
Dexter is a raw fed kitty, no tins of catfood for him! His diet consists of mainly chicken and beef, and he gets the occasional freeze dried chicken as a treat.
Laura buys in his meals from a local company that specialize in raw food for pets. She explains:
"Raw feeding can certainly have a margin of error, and so it is very important to ensure the diet covers all nutrient requirements for felines."
As you can see from the previous picture and the one below, Dexter is a firm believer in the classic cat meme - ‘If I fits, I sits’.
Dexter lives in a lovely wooded area, where it's too risky to let him roam freely due to the nearby wildlife and busy highway traffic.
However, running through the wilderness isn't really his idea of fun anyway. Growing up in a cozy indoor environment has made him a true homeboy!
Laura explains:
"When I take him outside on his leash, he will go and sit by the door to go back inside when he’s finished with being outdoors. Usually he’s done after about 15 minutes!"
And if you assume this big guy would make a meal out of a smaller companion, you'd be mistaken.
Dexter is actually quite a shy fellow and can be timid around new faces.
"I would love to get another cat, I am truthfully a little bit nervous about how a newcomer might impact Dexter, and I worry that it would disrupt his routine or comfort level in his home. Maybe someday, never say never!"
Every mom thinks their kid is the best, but Dexter truly is one clever cat. He’s a pro at opening doors to get what he wants!
Life with this colossal feline friend may seem intricate, but he's here to show that it's quite the opposite.
"Dexter is an absolute joy to have as a companion and he amazes me everyday with his gentle temperament.
He such a big, strong cat, but he’s genuinely so sweet-natured, so loving, and affectionate."
He loves being close to his humans no matter what they're doing around the house, and he sleeps next to them every night.
"He is truly a gentle giant which I think is such a lovely and unique quality in a cat. I adore him and feel so very lucky to have him in my life," says Laura.
Laura says having this lovable, intelligent, and affectionate companion is an absolute joy and it looks like Dexter feels exactly the same about Laura.
