They Hike By Day and Snuggle in Their Tent By Night, Purr-fect Adventures With a Cat

Introducing Adventure Cat Max!
This adorable lynx point Siamese, who is also known as Maxine, loves to go on hiking and camping adventures with her human mom Kaylin.
Their story began in May of 2021 when Max was found in a shed with three other teeny tiny kittens.
Their rescuer turned up at Kaylin's at door soon after and the rest, as they say, is history!
Kaylin was instantly smitten by this tiny bundle of fur that was around four weeks old weighing only one pound.
"She was the cutest thing I'd ever seen in my whole entire life," shared Kaylin with We Love Cats and Kittens.
"That day forever changed my life in a way that I could have never, ever imagined."
Kaylin is a seasoned outdoor enthusiast so Max was always destined to be an adventure cat.
"People might say I'm pretty extreme. I do fairly regular 30 mile backpacking trips and I hike every weekend."
When Max was about six weeks old, Kaylin began her training and at eight weeks, it was time to get her used to the harness and backpack inside the house.

Once Max was comfortable with all of those things, it was time to take her outside.
"Since that first day she's been on probably 20, 30 mile backpacking trips, a dozen or more car camping road trips and a gazillion day hikes."
And last year the pair of them went on their first solo backpacking trip.
"Just me, myself, and my cat, and the great outdoors, and it was so incredibly empowering."
Using her Instagram account, Kaylin has decided to help other people embrace solo adventures and encourage them to take their cat along for the journey.
On their camping trips Max absolutely adores being in the tent and the moment it's up she heads straight for the sleeping bag and burrows her way to the bottom.
When it's time to sleep she inches her way up and rests her head on the pillow beside Kaylin.
"So it's both of our heads on the pillow and it's the cutest thing in the world," recalls Kaylin.
"I totally recommend everyone to take their cat camping so they can cuddle up with their little fur ball in a sleeping bag as well."
Of course all of Max's favorite pastimes are outdoor based, from chasing butterflies and insects to running up and down trees and eating grass.
"I think that camping is also one of her favourite things, and she especially likes to hike in the evening when it's starting to get dark and the sun is going down."
Kaylin can't stress enough that before embarking on an adventure with your cat, you must do the adequate training – it's important to build up the trust between you and your kitty and strengthen your bond.
"I know by taking my cat outside, we have strengthened our bond in ways that I could have never imagined. I trust her and she trusts me," explains Kaylin.
Sometimes when they are camping in a secluded place, under the watchful eye of her mom, Max is allowed off the leash to do a little exploring on her own.
"She always comes when I call her, and together we have so much fun."
Cat training may demand a lot of patience, but the rewards are boundless and the bond between and you and your cat deepens and strengthens more than you could ever imagine.
Cats can be trained to do literally anything, and Kaylin's mission is to inspire individuals to take their cats outside safely and to feel confident venturing in the outdoors, whether or not they have someone to join them.
Bringing your cat is all that's needed!
