Loki started out life as a stray, but after wandering into Nathan's life three years ago, the two quickly became best friends.
Loki is an indoor/outdoor cat, he loves taking himself on walks through the neighborhood and surrounding areas.
When Nathan was returning from work one day he found his best friend's lifeless body by the side of the road.
He knew it was Loki by the markings, it looked as if he'd been hit by a car. Nathan and his girlfriend took Loki's body to a corner in the back yard of their house and buried him there.
Nathan said: "I was incredibly emotional. I was crying and couldn't believe my cat was dead."
The next morning Loki appeared, as if he was returning home from a casual stroll.
Nathan was totally stunned when he saw him, Loki was actually still alive and well.
Miraculously, Loki had risen from the dead, there was no denying this came as an unbelievable turn of events.
It was then Nathan realized that he must of buried someone else's cat so he spread the word so that the other cat's family could be made aware of the situation.
The whole experience has made Nathan weary of letting Loki wander about as he doesn't want to go through this heart break again.
