If you see a stray kitten all alone in the street, your first thought would be to help. That’s what any caring person will do.

That is exactly what happened when Betty H and her husband saw a stray kitten with different colored eyes wandering around outside their house.

They decided that they needed to rescue the little stray kitten and even adopt her if they could.

They soon realised that she was timid, although she was very dirty and hungry. “We started leaving food and water to help her out and she began hanging around,” explained Betty.

They asked around but nobody came forward to claim the kitten that was now named Fluffy, so after a couple of months they decided to rescue her.

They were already feeding her three times a day and each time Betty would hang around so that Fluffy would get used to her presence.

“At first, I was quiet. Once she got used to me being there without any hesitation, I began talking to Fluffy while she ate and drank,” Betty said. “Eventually, I attempted to pet her. It was really telling that she’d never had an owner.”

After a while Fluffy would let Betty touch her but she was very reluctant, trust can be a difficult thing to gain but Betty was very patient.

Thankfully Betty’s patients paid off and before long Fluffy was asking for attention and petting.

“Near the end of her time outside, she would actually want to be petted before eating. It really blew me away to see that from a stray,” said Betty.

And then something amazing happened, Fluffy now trusted her humans enough to follow them into their house and she finally became part of their family.

“I gave her the first bath she’d probably ever had. She had black spots on her nose and orange residue on her paws that seemed to refuse to wash away,” Betty added.

“She was missing patches of fur and had massive filthy knots in the fur she did have.”

After her bath, wrapped up in a towel like a little burrito, Fluffy began to purr loudly and warmed Betty’s heart. “I’ve never heard a cat purr so loudly.

Later, when we took her to the vet, we learned that she had a series of issues — she had worms, a stomach infection, and ear mites.”

The couple nursed the kitten back to health and she had a haircut to remove all the knots and mats.

Their other cat Lacie enjoyed Fluffy’s company.

“They get along really well, and we have noticed that Lacie is more frisky now that Fluffy is with us.”

It’s so lovely to see Fluffy blossom into a happy and playful cat.

Betty thinks she acts like a puppy dog as she is very energetic and always willing to play.

“Just like a dog, Fluffy is always waiting for any food that accidentally drops on the floor,” Betty said. “She will roll in the floor when she’s immensely happy and playful.”

Fluffy enjoys watching bird TV from the window. She’s loving her VIP life as a spoiled indoor cat.

Looks like Fluffy has found the perfect place and family to call her own.
