There are a lot of people in this world that have a big heart and will go out of their way to help animals in need. One of those people is Elvys Lorys Cunha. This story began when he saw a stray dog on the street that desperately needed his help.

The weather was cold and wet but it wasn’t only the dog he was worried about, it was the three puppies that she had with her. His heart sank and he knew that he had to do something to help. So he went off to the pet store and came back with a bright blue doghouse.

Elvys found a sheltered spot to put the house and along with the red blanket inside, he was sure that this would help stave off the cold weather.

The young mother was very happy to have a warm place for her and her new family.

However, the next time he visited to see how they were all doing he got a big surprise and couldn’t believe his eyes. The dogs were still there, but this time they weren’t alone. This happy little family were playing host to some unexpected house guests.

He discovered a beautiful stray grey cat who must of thought that the dog house looked like an ideal place to keep warm and then he saw a little kitten’s head appear, she had just given birth!

On closer inspection he discovers there are actually four kittens in there, so along with the three puppies, they make one big happy family keeping each other warm.

He decides to film this wonderful event because he thinks his friends won’t believe him (scroll down for video) and as the camera zooms in you can see the kittens nestled against their mommy.

It was a beautiful moment seeing the dog and cat happy to share the doghouse with each other. And they even snuggle up together to share their body heat with their babies.

So there were two families in this tiny house, the mama dog with three puppies and the mama cat with four kittens – and they all looked happy, warm and comfortable. How cool is that? What a purr-fect way to keep your babies safe and warm!
