Meet Queen Lily, a regal feline who reigned over her world for four decades, spanning the 90s, 00s, 10s, and 20s.
For twenty-three of those years, Reece Alexander-Putinas was fortunate enough to call her his best friend.
Lily found her way to Reece when she was just a kitten in 1999, and the pair have been inseparable ever since.
Reece credits Lily with teaching him the true meaning of friendship, love, compassion, and loyalty.
Despite her advanced age, Queen Lily continued to thrive and astonish all who knew her.
Reece believes that their unbreakable bond is a significant factor in Queen Lily's longevity.
He said, "I suppose the love and bond we share just keeps her going."
And their connection goes both ways, with Reece finding strength in Queen Lily's companionship through life's ups and downs.
As they grew up together, Reece and Queen Lily shared many joyful moments.
Lily enjoyed the simple pleasures of basking in the sun, snacking on treats, and nibbling on houseplants.
Reece always made sure to keep the leaves trimmed to keep his beloved kitty happy.
Despite her royal title, Queen Lily was anything but a diva. She never once hissed or scratched Reece in their many years together.
Her gentle and kind nature endeared her to all who knew her.

Forever Remembered, Forever Missed
Sadly, even the most enduring friendships must come to an end. Just days after the world lost Queen Elizabeth II, Queen Lily passed away.
"It is with a tremendously heavy heart I had to say goodbye to my Queen earlier today," shared Reece on Instagram.
"She passed laying on her dad's chest to the sound my heartbeat feeling the love that we've shared for nearly a quarter of a century."
Reece was devastated, but he was comforted by the love and purrs of his beloved furry soulmate in her final days.
“I was not prepared for my world to come crashing down in 2022,” he said. “Losing my furry soulmate broke my heart, and I will never forget the last year I got to spend with my queen!”
Reflecting on his time with Queen Lily, Reece expressed gratitude for the memories they shared and the lessons he learned from her.
He said, "Lily taught me to unconditionally love and live life to the fullest."
Although Queen Lily may no longer be with us, her legacy lives on through the love and memories she shared with Reece and her legion of fans.
And her remarkable lifespan is a testament to the power of friendship, love, and loyalty.
