Herman The Scaredy Cat Can’t Believe His Eyes

This kitten looks like the ultimate scaredy cat as he gives new meaning to the term ‘wide eyed’.
Herman, an exotic shorthair, was born with exceptionally big eyes – giving him a permanently startled expression. The five-month-old kitty lives in Copenhagen, Denmark, with his doting owner Shirley, 26. The kitten’s bulbous eyes are so big that he cannot completely close his eyelids – even when he’s sleeping. However luckily for Shirley, tiny Herman snores, clearly indicating when he’s having a snooze.
Other cats who have been born with large eyes, have later been diagnosed with spontaneous lens luxation. This sees the lens detach from the rest of the eye for no known reason, meaning some pet suffering from the condition have to undergo surgery. In cats, lens dislocation is usually an age-associated degenerative change.
