Fay and Dionisis are a young couple from Athens, Greece, who are very active in animal welfare. They first became involved when they adopted their dog Meli. They started feeding the stray cats in their building and this became a daily responsibility. The cats started following them around, and in a way they “formed” new colonies of stray cats that approached the neighborhood.

The cats have a very special bond with their dog, Meli – they have basically related dinner time with her, and every time they see her take her walk, three times per day, they follow her around and wait for their food. 99% of the cats have been neutered by the couple and they are doing their best to maintain a steady number of healthy cats in the neighborhood.

Both of them are founding members of SCARS, a Greek charity very involved in cat rescue. You can help them take care of their feral friends by donating to SCARS: http://www.scars.gr/  or visit their Facebook page
