Mr. Belvedere was part of a small outdoor cat colony.
It was thought that he was over 10 years old, and is unusual for tomcats to survive on the streets for that length of time.
People kept trying to rescue Mr.B but they never managed to catch him. Finally, he decided to ask for help.
“When Mr.B finally walked into one of the traps, I think he realized that he needed help and that maybe we were gonna help him.”
“He had really bad mange and ear mites and I remember him looking at me through the trap with his big old eyes as if to say, okay what happens next.”
So he was taken to the vet where it was discovered that he was really sick, it turned out he also had FIV and because FIV in cats can be serious it was feared they would euthanize him.
But Lindsey (the carer) decided to take him home, she knew it would be hard but she saw in his eyes that he had a bit of fight left so she didn’t give up on him.
It was time for this senior kitty to get the love and attention he deserved.
